Fujifilm is pleased to announce the new FinePix S5700, a refinement of its predecessor, the FinePix S5600. The modifications to the FinePix S5700 mean it is easier to use than anything that has gone before.
It's a faithful companion for every event, from nights out, the kids' school play or sports day, right through to countryside walks and family holidays. It's the ultimate camera for every occasion and perfect for users who always want a camera to hand, but prefer to get creative, not technical, with their photography.
The S5700 is an upgrade to last years best-selling long zoom camera, the S5600, which was voted by the EISA* as the 'European Zoom camera of 2006-07'. The S5700 is improved in many respects, and is likely to take the long zoom crown once again this year.
First up is the lens, which, unsurprisingly, makes or breaks a camera in this category.
This specially-designed Fujinon optic gives you a zoom range of 38 mm to 380 mm, or 10 times magnification, meaning its perfect for candid shots of friends at distance, or shots of the kids playing football.
ANTI BLUR
One of problems of long zoom cameras is blur because of the poor sensitivity of the sensor and lack of light down the lens tube. The S5700 solves this with Fuji's Picture Stabilisation mode, which increases the ISO automatically up to 1600, giving crisp, sharp results every time by automatically increasing the shutter speed when light is scarce.
USE THE S5700 AS A CAMCORDER
The S5700 offers an excellent recording resolution of 640 x 480 at 30 frames per second, meaning it can act as a first-class camcorder as well as a camera.

This model has been described as a 'compact, technological marvel that combines elegant design with a host of practical features,' and as a result has just been awarded the Best Ultra Compact Digital Camera 2007 by TIPA.
The FinePix Z5fd is the first in its range of 'Z' series cameras to feature hardware-based Face Detection Technology. Available IN RASPBERRY RED, SILVER AND PINK, the range will be completed in March with the addition of the Mocha Brown and Silver. The FinePix Z5fd becomes the flagship in Fujifilm's ultra-slim, style-compact line-up alongside the FinePix Z3 and Z2. With a 3x optical (internal) zoom, a 6.3 megapixel sensor, ISO 1600 sensitivity, Intelligent Flash and a new Blog Mode: plus Fujifilm's unique Super CCD HR and RP Processor II, the camera's diminutive size and chic outer-shell looks at odds with the amount of technology at its heart.
At less than 20mm thick, the FinePix Z5fd is small enough to fit easily into a pocket or bag. It features the traditional 'Z' series sliding lens cover, with a 'Z5' motif that lights up when switched on. It also features a rugged 2.5 scratch resistant LCD screen and non-extending Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens making it the perfect camera to use on the move.
Face Detection Technology
At the push of a button, the FinePix Z5 Pro's Face Detection Technology will detect the main subjects in a scene and adjust for focus, exposure and flash to ensure a perfect picture every time. After the picture is taken, headshots can be quickly reviewed to check facial detail (for instance, to see if the subject's eyes were open or closed).
Unlike conventional AF that targets mainly subjects in the centre, Face Detection instantly and accurately identifies faces anywhere in the scene and brings them into clear focus.
Depending on the brightness of detected faces, Face Detection optimises face exposure, or automatically activates Intelligent Flash, which adjusts sensitivity and flash output for ideal subject exposure.
Fujifilm's Face Detection chip is hard-wired onto the camera's circuit board and detects faces in as little as 0.05 seconds.
Movie Mode
The FinePix Z5fd records movies at 30 fps with sound (AVI format), so you can use it instead of your camcorder! Movie recording time is limited only by the size of the xD-Picture Card used in the camera. A 2GB card can record almost 30 minutes of high-quality 680 x 480 movie.
Blog Mode
Now you can post pictures to Blogs, Websites, or Auctions or email with ease. The Z5fd features a new Blog Mode feature that will automatically resize any image you've captured to a 640x480 (VGA) image size, right in the camera, with the touch of a button! Your original high resolution image is saved, and an additional VGA image file is created for use in web applications or email where smaller file sizes and faster load times are needed. No editing software or additional work is necessary. Just push the button and upload!
